Join us for this expertly designed, research-based virtual CPD series focused on language development in the Early Years and Key Stage 1.

This programme equips teachers, leaders, and practitioners with deep understanding and practical tools to support oracy and language acquisition, particularly for children who may not be meeting expected developmental milestones.

Each session is rooted in the latest research and includes real-world strategies to take straight into the classroom. Ideal for teachers, teaching assistants, early years practitioners, SENDCos, and leaders, this course builds confidence in identifying and supporting Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

The Say a poem team show you how to bring the joy of spoken poetry into everyday classroom life.

What is Say a poem?

Our poems, developed by Ruth Miskin and Mark and Sara Rice-Oxley:

• are rich in language to build children’s vocabulary
• are playful to say to develop oracy
• support development of early language.

Each of our 80+ poems are brought to life in an engaging five-minute film which encourages participation and speaking aloud. Each film makes children feel ‘I can do it!’

What will I learn?

By the end of the day, you will know how to:

• help children remember new vocabulary
• sharpen children’s attention
• show how meaning and intention affect tone and intonation

EEF’s Alex Quigley leads a full-day training on the new writing framework, with practical KS1 & KS2 strategies to boost writing.

We are delighted to welcome Alex Quigley, from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), to deliver a full-day training on writing. The session is rooted in the new writing framework and will provide evidence-based insights alongside a wealth of practical strategies to support writing in the classroom.

Focusing on both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, the training will explore effective approaches to developing pupils’ writing skills, bridging research with practice to equip teachers and leaders with tools they can use immediately.
